5 Ways to keep you calm and collected during the pandemic

Our world has been a little cray-cray of late, but that doesn't mean your inner world need to suffer due to the chaos around you.

Since no one approach fits all when it comes to mindfulness and keeping a level head, we decided to put together five ways you can include in your self-care routine.

Self-Care is always essential. It is refreshing and relaxing, the perfect way to regroup after a long day or long week. No matter how busy you are, self-care should be an essential part of your routine. The best way to relax is to incorporate a delicious candle into your routine. It encompasses every aspect of your health and should be considered a priority.

Scents can have positive effects on mood, stress reduction, sleep enhancement, self-confidence, and physical and cognitive performance. Using candles can be a great way to show yourself some love.

Meditation

There are many different types of meditation. Meditation is the practice of resting the mind. In today's unprecedented world, we are continually being bogged down with information. Our minds never genuinely get the opportunity to relax, which is why incorporating meditation into a self-care routine is essential.

If you're finding your mind restless and wandering at night, or you're feeling overwhelmed and anxious, you may need to spend a few minutes of meditation. Our Avocado and Mint scented candles would be wonderful to pair with this activity because of its natural soothing and relaxing properties.

Read a book

Reading a book for fun is a great and inexpensive way to provide a little relaxation for yourself. You can go to your local library or bookstore and pick up a copy of a book in your favourite genre.

Light your favourite candle from Prince of Candles and dive into your book. We recommend a relaxing, fresh scent such as Fresh Linen. It's clean and crisp fragrance will allow you to feel like you are enjoying your book in a clean space.

Take a bath

Sometimes after you've had a long day, taking a long bath is just the thing you need to unwind. Sometimes, the simple things in life provide the most significant benefits.

We suggest our Tiger Lily and Patchouli or Oriental Myrrh and Musk fragrances are the perfect escape from the world. Not only will our fragrances leave you feeling calm, but it also ushers in feelings of tranquillity and peace-of-mind at the end of a stressful day. Our Eucalyptus and Spearmint fragrance includes notes of light musk weaved with an exotic base for herbal notes of eucalyptus, fresh spearmint, and peppermint leaf, which can help with opening up a stuffy nose during those cold, winter months.

Yoga

Physical exercise is one of the best ways to show yourself a little love. While running or weightlifting may not be your thing, yoga is a great way to ease into a physical routine. Yoga not only provides the benefits of increased flexibility, muscle strength, and tone, but it has excellent mental health benefits as well. It can reduce anxiety and stress, improve sleep quality, improve symptoms of depression, and even potentially reduce inflammation. Start slowly by practising a few times a week - we suggest creating a warm, inviting atmosphere with our Lemongrass and Persian Lime or Japanese Honeysuckle to help liven up your routine.

Clean your space

One of the best ways to clear your head is to have a clean space. A cleanroom can help alleviate the mind. Even though cleaning isn't one of the most enjoyable activities for some, it keeps you busy and can make you feel better in the end. Cleaning is also a great way to blow off some steam and clear your head. I love to keep candles burning all over my house on cleaning days. It not only makes your space smell fantastic, but it creates a peaceful atmosphere. We recommend our Fig and Melon or one of our Fresh Linen candles for any clean space.
